I make most of my beads from glass imported from Italy, and some from glass made in Australia and some imported from the USA, New Zealand and elsewhere using a high temperature oxygen/LPG torch.

I also make some beads from special bottles.
First the contents are recycled (by drinking them), then the bottle is smashed, melted, and converted into beads that remind the wearer of the special occasion on which the contents were recycled every time the beads are worn.

All beads are properly kiln annealed to eliminate stresses in the glass which cause cracking. Some beads are solid glass and some are blown, giving a decorative and very lightweight bead.
